Wednesday, March 16, 2022 by Marleen MartensBeautiful , varied route. Well signposted, except in Kruishoutem itself, due to roadworks. Not really suitable for road bikes. No long climbs, more for the somewhat trained cyclist. To be repeated, when the works are finished. Oncoming traffic from the road diversion is less pleasant.

Wednesday, July 10, 2019 by patrick lamoteIn terms of panoramas, really quite a beautiful route. In some places you get to see beautiful views. Slightly sloping landscape with a tough climb here and there, such as to the Hof van Cleve. Here and there also a healthy portion of cobblestones. There are 2 stretches where the ride is really not that pleasant. There you are sent onto a path hardly worthy of the name bike path, barely half a meter wide and overgrown with nettles on both sides. Impossible to cross there ! This is the connection between Mullemstraat and Driesstraat in Mullem and Het Leeghoek in Wannegem. Downright dangerous and irresponsible to send cyclists there. For experienced MTB'ers this is doable but to be avoided with an (electric) city bike or racing bike. Detour is the message here. Too bad I have no possibility to attach a photo here.

Sunday, August 12, 2018 by R.D.Beautiful route, really worthwhile. The handy thing is that the signs are where you have to turn off, so the chance of passing a sign is smaller (unlike the Kouterroute, where you always have to pay attention 20 m before the intersection).
Especially the part between De Zandvlooi and Wannegem is nice, actually this part of the Flemish Ardennes is the most attractive, because of the open slope of the landscape and the wide view. Top point is the view from the Nachtegaelstraat, with a view of the church and mill of Wannegem, the forest and the castle of the Ghellinck, the mill and the church of Huise. This is where the vastness of the landscape is most apparent.
If you do not start in Kruishoutem, but somewhere else on the trail, you have to look for the church of Kruishoutem, there is no connection between the last sign and the first sign (turn left before the church).
On the narrower bike paths e.g. between Wannegem and Kruishoutem (nettles over the path) and in Mullem (near the potpolder) (overhanging willow branches) it would be best to work on the accessibility (eyes!!).
It might be an idea to put some brief information on the site about some of the most interesting tourist points, such as the description/history of the mills, the oldest farms (hof ter meulen), the paint colors of the farms, which refer to the colors of the castle (yellow ochre, reddish brown, white with yellow-blue "bark doors and doors, etc).
We have pushed the sign on Mullem village straight again, ;-) that's how the buzz stops.

Sunday, June 18, 2017 by D.S.Beautiful circuit along authentic Flemish roads. Signage was not 100% correct (see Kurt Willemarck's comment). Sign incorrectly indicates Molenstraat instead of turning into Groenestraat (to drive back to Kruishoutem). But still highly recommended. And I will definitely do it again.

Monday, June 5, 2017 by D.W.Very beautiful. Beautiful scenery, lots of variety but tough cycling. In the beginning few stops but once over 1/3 of the way you come across everything to satisfy hunger and thirst. 1 sign was wrong (turned) towards the end, so GPS is no luxury. Electric very doable, regular bike a bit heavier.

Sunday, May 28, 2017 by K.W.Beautiful route along quiet roads. At bakkerijstraat the sign is hidden in the green. Along zevekotestraat to turn into groenstraat the sign was apparently twisted and pointed in the wrong direction causing one to ride back to Wannegem. A bike GPS was useful here. But it is a very nice route with beautiful views and there is a lot to see. Take your time with it. It is hilly though.

Sunday, April 17, 2016 by P.G.Beautiful route but something is definitely wrong.... A sign is missing between Huise and Mullem. You need to follow the bike sign towards Mullem (turn right) about 500 meters after Huise. In Mullem turn right (the sign was loose and indicated the wrong direction).

Saturday, April 2, 2016 by F.C.Fine route with beautiful views, achievable for all! Hit post with signs in Mullem.... something is not right.
