Description
Feel like royalty as you stroll through Tervuren’s Warande Park and Warande Forest. When the castle of the Dukes of Brabant still stood here—now only ruins remain—this was the nobility’s hunting grounds. Today, it’s a paradise for walkers and cyclists, featuring lovely ponds, dead-straight forest paths, the magnificent AfricaMuseum and the Koloniënpaleis, and plenty of other bits of history. Grab a seat on a terrace on Tervuren’s Markt or step inside the Gothic church.
Before you set out: You can download the route at www.visittervuren.be, and it’s also described in a walking brochure available at the visitor center, Markt 7B in Tervuren. A free map featuring all the points of interest is also available.

Monday, January 18, 2021 by H.V.Shorter walk that I've done about five times. You can easily extend them, as there are plenty of forest roads around there. Particularly nice walk along the beautiful ponds, and the stately castle of the Africa Museum. Maybe avoid on weekends, as many Brussels people come to walk there (direct streetcar from Brussels has terminus there).
