Icon description route Description

Merendree flaunts an impressive belt of castles, with Ten Walle Castle, Melderen Castle and Velde Castle or the "pink castle. The climb up the Molenberg (node 55) requires some effort, but the summit offers an impressive view of the Oude Kalevallei nature reserve. In Hansbeke, you can't ignore the blue and white shutters that refer to the village's castle past.

The Bij de heren van Nevele cycle routeis offered to you byRouten, an initiative of Tourism East Flanders.

Sunday, April 25, 2021 by Vera Van Hoof - TheysPlus points: beautiful landscape
+ lots of variety / beautiful farm buildings / distant views
Minus points: many pieces of poorly maintained road
-in the curves a lot of gravel /sometimes narrow paths /regularly crossing freeways, but we did not find that disturbing /last part is currently with detour (kp 87 - 89) but very badly indicated.
Nice route.

Sunday, April 25, 2021 by Johan MercyFlanders is no Tirol. In terms of natural beauty, we have to be happy with what we (still) have, but this is a beautiful route. Recommended.

Sunday, August 2, 2020 by E.V.Nice route. We started at junction 18 because it is better to park the car there (church). We took a rest in Patershoekje in Vosselaere (you have to drive about 100 m off the trail for this but it's worth it).

Friday, July 31, 2020 by S.T.Beautiful tour, starting on church square is actually node 18 already. Indeed better not with the race bike because there are many unpaved parts but ideal with the MTB or other bike. Road sometimes in bad condition. But beautiful and fairly quiet roads!

Monday, July 27, 2020 by Virginie BrackeA super fun bike ride. Cozy trails, beautiful places and the occasional opportunity to have a drink. Highly recommended.

Tuesday, July 21, 2020 by Jo MartensBeautiful rural bike route. Few options to make stopovers though. So best to provide your own drinks. But a very nice ride along quiet lanes and beautiful locations.
