Description

In the province of Antwerp you do more than just taste beer, beer becomes an experience. Via the Trappist route you cycle from the Trappist Abbey of Westmalle to the Trappist monastery of Brecht, starting from Café Trappisten at 487 Antwerpsesteenweg in Westmalle. Then there is the Neo-Romanesque Abbey of Brecht, which is located in the middle of the Brecht Heath and the Domein de Renesse Oostmalle where you can enjoy 60 acres of greenery. If you want to see a special work of art, don't miss the Lime Pavilion of Zoersel and to finish, you can taste a double or trippel. This living beer that is still truly brewed within the abbey walls and consists of Malle's groundwater, malt, yeast, hops and candy sugar is absolutely worth your while.

Saturday, June 3, 2023 by J.V.Recommended, lots of greenery, trees, water, fields. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Keep in mind the many unpaved stretches of road which, by the way, are good to drive (in dry weather).

Sunday, December 12, 2021 by Werner Van steenvoortVery beautiful , varied route . Large part unpaved . Several places to drink something ( if they are open at least :-) ). Only downside : at several points the signage is very unclear , or even missing .

Saturday, September 4, 2021 by R.G.Very nice route, a lot in the green and among the trees. And something to drink at the beginning and somewhere in the middle of the route. Do keep in mind the many unpaved sections of road.

Saturday, September 5, 2020 by G.K.Recommended. A little bit of everything: forest-field-water, well-signposted. Some dirt roads that are very well maintained and rideable. Be sure to make a stop at the castle De Renesse for a snack and drink.
