Icon description route Description

Oosterzele and Sint-Lievens-Houtem are two quiet communes in the Flemish Ardennes on the border with Scheldeland. Here, the transition from a flat landscape with farms and meadows to a slightly hilly area with forests is clearly visible. On this route, you pass picturesque villages, beautiful viewpoints, old windmills and some interesting places such as the gin distillery of Balegem or the Blue Castle in Scheldewindeke.

Tuesday, June 8, 2021 by Marcel DensRidden the route with the course bike + GPS. Nice course with 2 cobblestone lanes, Lange Munte = ok, Schaperstraat a little less but fortunately not too long. Mostly quiet roads although always be careful in some twisty roads for oncoming traffic that can suddenly pop up behind some blind corners farmer with tractor and machine.

Friday, April 30, 2021 by X.C.Nice route, I only give a 4 because the route has quite a lot of big lanes with truck traffic and speeders. On weekends you probably won't be bothered much by that but during the week it clearly is. I wouldn't recommend the route so much for kids for that reason. Lots of hospitality along the way, closed now though. Signage could be better.

Sunday, August 14, 2016 by L.B.Very clearly marked route, except in Sint Lievens Houtem it is a bit of searching in the marketplace. A beautiful region though, the trail is pretty tough.
