Icon description route Description

You'll start the bike ride at Val-Dieu Abbey, a monastery of Cistercian monks in Aubel in the Pays de Herve, founded around 1215. After a first stretch full of greenery, you will head for Battice and its fort built between 1934 and 1937, which can also be visited. You will then reach the village of Thimister where the first Belgian soldier of the First World War fell: Antoine Fonck. The last part of the bike ride takes you through the charming village of Aubel, where you can grab a bite to eat before heading back up to the Abbey, where you can sample the beers brewed on site.
