Description
The name of this walk comes from the whisky distillery of the same name "De Molenberg" in Blaasveld, where the starting point is also located.
In the family farm in Blaasveld, grain has been distilled into jenever since the 17th century by the Van Breedam family of millers. In 2010, fifth-generation brewery owner Charles Leclef launched a bold plan. He united both family traditions - distilling and brewing - in a unique project: Distillery De Molenberg. It was the first whiskey distillery in Belgium with traditional copper pot stills. The malt batter of the Gouden Carolus Tripel beer forms the basis for the Gouden Carolus Single Malt whiskey. I
n the distillery, in addition to a guided tour, you can taste this delicious whiskey and visit the shop. So be sure to combine this walk with a visit to the distillery! A combined visit with Brewery Het Anker in Mechelen is also possible.

Tuesday, August 17, 2021 by Yves VlasselaerRoute in itself is beautiful, but no signage at all. There are many hiking nodes present on or near this trail. Better would be to put together a route here using the existing hiking nodes and arrange departure/arrival from a place with parking.
