Description
The Koebos is a beautiful old oak forest with lovely spring flora, featuring hay meadows in the valley with meadowsweet, cuckoo flower, ragged robin, and the rare meadow damselfly. The forest adjoins the castle park of UZ Pellenberg, laid out in the second half of the 19th century as an English-style park with rolling hills, thick chestnut groves, and monumental weeping beeches. This walk also takes you past the impressive Herendaalhoeve. It was founded in the 13th century and is one of the oldest and largest farms in the Hageland region.
Before you set out: This is a walk on a virtual walking network. The junctions are not marked on the ground. The walk is marked in both directions with an orange circle.

Sunday, May 16, 2021 by Sandy SeghersExpectations were low because of major traffic axes in the neighborhood, but this hike was FAN-TAS-TIC. Beautiful green surroundings with lovely views and wonderful peace and quiet. Houses, as if time stood still, with neat neat vegetable gardens that made me reminisce about the time with my grandparents who plowed in 'den hof'. TOP!
