Description
This walk introduces you to the Koebos and Gasthuisbos areas. The Koebos is a beautiful old oak forest with lovely spring flora, and in the valley, hay meadows featuring meadowsweet, cuckoo flower, ragged robin, and the rare meadow damselfly. The forest connects to the castle park of UZ Pellenberg, laid out in the second half of the 19th century as an English-style park with rolling hills, thick chestnut trees, and monumental weeping beeches. In the Gasthuisbos, dead wood gives rise to new life. Between the Koebos and the Gasthuisbos, you’ll walk along a centuries-old sunken path.
Before you set out: This is a walk on a virtual walking network. The junctions are not marked on the ground. The walk is signposted in both directions with a red triangle.

Saturday, November 9, 2024 by S.D.Variety between forest, fields and paved roads. The Koebos was very swampy and wet. The crossing bridge over the small river was under water. So we had to find a detour. Red triangle markings are sometimes hidden behind the bushes. ! Start of walk, follow green rectangle first! Beautiful autumn colors. Quiet region.

Saturday, May 11, 2024 by Wilfried Van RompaeyBeautiful hike indeed! Maybe this is a silly question, but armed with the numbers of the hiking nodes we went looking for the posts with those numbers ... but nope: only the "old" signs with the red triangles were found! Is this generally the case in Flemish Brabant or only here in Pellenberg? Thanks for asking.

Friday, December 25, 2020 by Edwin MoonsThis is a nice walk partly in the woods, fields and small streets. However, the description is incorrect. The walk is 11 km and not 19.5 km. The walk is indicated by red triangles on hexagonal plate. I did not find the plates with linden forest walk anywhere.
