It fell into disrepair, and in 1895, a man named Jacques de T’Serclaes de Wommersom had a new castle built: the beautiful Wommersom Castle, which you’ll pass by on your walk. Just like the solitary Walsberghoeve, which was also once owned by the Order. Passing through the fields and woods of the Gete Valley, you’ll reach the IJzerenweg, a car-free bike and walking path on the old Tienen-Diest railroad right-of-way.
