Description
You soon leave the cozy village center of Melkwezer and see farmstead Walsbergen emerging through the fields. Immediately you step into nature reserve Walsbergen, far from habitation, with woods, hay meadows and a pond. An open landscape takes you to Wommersom and past the handsome Castle of Wommersom built at the end of the 19th century. Then you follow the 's Hertogengracht to the winding Grote Gete and step for kilometers through a landscape where only nature and fields dominate. Houses you won't see until you arrive back in Melkwezer. After your hike, enjoy a Walsberger, the regional beer of Linter.

Monday, June 8, 2026 by S.V.A very beautiful and varied walk, with plenty of parking at the church near the starting point, and a lovely picnic spot halfway along at the "courtship chapel" just past marker 123. ONE TIP: Wear long pants or check for ticks, as you’ll be walking through tall wild grass at times.
