Description
From the St. Genoveva Church in Oplinter, you’ll find yourself immersed in a landscape of rolling fields and orchards as you head toward the neighboring village of Sint-Margriete-Houtem. There, you’ll come to the military cemetery, home to the fruit-inspired artwork *Stil*. Sit on the Corten steel bench, watch as the sun casts a shadow of poppies on the ground, and take a moment to reflect on the 173 soldiers buried here. Back in Oplinter, you’ll pass the former Maagdendaal monastery, a striking monument with a beautiful Baroque gatehouse.
