Description
A beautiful forest walk along narrow paths, stately forest avenues, and sunken forest roads. The perfectly straight beech trees look just like the pillars of Gothic cathedrals. Pass by the Chardonnay Meerdael grapevines, climb and romp with your children in the Everzwijnbad play area, and settle down on the bench by the Warandevijver pond. The Tomberg is the highest point in the entire forest, at 102.5 meters, featuring a natural gazebo where you can take a breather.

Friday, July 10, 2026 by Michèle BoesmansA great hike with temperatures of 29 degrees or higher—we did it in the heat. We were out in the sun now and then, but that didn’t bother us because we’d head back into the woods. It’s a really beautiful hike, but don’t do it after heavy rain; it was still damp there after the first heat wave.

Sunday, June 9, 2024 by P.P.Those who like long forest roads will love this hike. For us boring, without vistas, always the same. Currently still very boggy (especially the second part).

Sunday, April 19, 2020 by I.C.Nice walk, most of which went through the Meerdaal forest. Here and there a calf-biter, but definitely worthwhile.
Do watch out for the mountain bikers.
