The ancient oaks and beeches of the Sonian Forest are truly impressive. This walk takes you through the heart of the forest, away from all traffic noise, between Hoeilaart and Sint-Genesius-Rode. On one of the forest paths, you’ll come across a pedunculate oak that’s as much as 300 years old and 40 meters tall. A natural monument that lends its name to this walk.

Before you set out: This is a walk on a virtual hiking network. The junctions are not marked on the ground. Follow the wooden posts with red bands.
