Description
It’s wonderfully quiet as you stroll through the woods and fruit orchards of the Velpe Valley. The small village of Zuurbemde is a protected village landscape, with de la Coste Castle on its outskirts. A feudal motte-and-bailey castle is said to have once stood here, later replaced by a farmhouse, until a certain Edmond-Charles de la Coste began construction of the neoclassical castle in 1820.
Before you set out: This is a walk on a virtual walking network. The junctions are not marked on the ground. Follow the hexagonal red-and-white signs bearing the name of the walk.

Sunday, November 29, 2020 by Sarah GlazemaekersWell marked. Much paved, but beautiful views. We picked up a piece of 'birth forest', to get an even better sense of nature. Nice hike!

Friday, November 13, 2020 by Marc PrinsenThe hike is well marked, to start on a positive note. Unfortunately, the trail runs almost entirely on unattractive paved roads along meadows and fields with hardly any variation. Not worth repeating.
