Description
Take a walk through the Velpe Valley past fields, orchards, and a few beautiful historic buildings. Kwabeek Castle, your starting point, was once one of the most important castles in the region. The park is open to the public, and the castle serves as the town hall. The old farmsteads Katspoelhof and Blauwschuurhoeve seem to blend seamlessly into the landscape. The Blauwschuurhoeve is also known locally as the Duivelsschuur (Devil’s Barn) because of a macabre legend.
Before you set out: This is a walk on a virtual walking network. The junctions are not marked on the ground. Follow the hexagonal red-and-white signs bearing the name of the walk.
