Take a walk around the Weerdse fishing pond and along country roads until you reach the meandering Zenne River. Pieter Paul Rubens loved to spend time in this landscape; he lived nearby in his castle in Elewijt. Surrounded by fields and greenery, you’ll arrive at the ruins of the Sluistoren on the Zenne. It is the only remnant of the watermill complex that stood here until the German occupiers decided otherwise in 1914.

Before you set out: This is a walk on a virtual walking network. The junctions are not marked on the ground. Follow the hexagonal red-and-white signs bearing the name of the walk.

This hiking trail is very easy to follow because it is WELL DESCRIBED but then by Tourism Flemish Brabant with the typical hexagonal white signs with inscription : De Weerdse Kronkels.
