Head to the Hageland hills, just a stone’s throw from Leuven, where deep sunken roads, the charming Speelberg Chapel, and beautiful views of the Lindenbos, the Chartreuzenbos, and their surroundings await you. You’ll climb and descend into the Wingeva Valley, passing the tavern “Het Bed van Napoleon” on the edge of the forest. According to legend, Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte once spent the night in this old forester’s cottage—some say with a local farmer’s daughter.
