This hiking trail starts in Herbeumont and quickly takes you over the Conques Viaduct, which consists of 7 arches, is 40 meters high and 120 meters long. It was built by the Germans during World War I and spans the Semois, an impressive example of engineering. Atop the viaduct, you have a beautiful view of the meandering Semois.

You follow the bank of the beautiful Semois for a few kilometers. You walk on very quiet paths and feel far away from the inhabited world. A strenuous hike, but definitely worth the effort.

Thursday, November 27, 2025 by Erwin Vanderheydentough but beautiful hike. Only for experienced hikers. I did the hike in late November, but I had to be careful with wet foliage, which can be treacherously slippery. There are some very steep and slippery sections. Obviously this will be different in summer. Without hiking poles, this hike is not doable.
