Icon description route Description

Surprising Vilvoorde? Surprisingly green, that’s for sure! Right next to the busy Brussels Ring Road and on the border with Grimbergen, you’ll find the Tangebeekbos. It’s an old park forest, and you can tell by the somewhat bizarre exotic trees mixed in among the native deciduous trees. Such as the giant silver fir, the California cypress, and the sky tree. You’ll also pass under the Ring Road into the Koningslo neighborhood, where the Romeinsesteenweg—a beautiful sunken road—takes you past Living Tomorrow, or the House of the Future.

Before you set out: This is a walk on a virtual walking network. The junctions are not marked on the ground.
This walk is offered by Regionaal Landschap Brabantse Kouters.

Friday, August 28, 2020 by J.D.is indeed a surprising walk, you do not immediately expect from Vilvoorde, only unfortunate that on much of the route you hear the disturbing noise of the nearby busy traffic
