Description
With a name like this, you’re bound to pass by some gigantic sequoias—also known as giant redwoods. These conifers are undoubtedly the largest trees in the Hallerbos. But they’re also a rarity here, since this largest forest area between the Zenne and Zoniën is primarily home to oaks and beeches. The Hallerbos is best known for its stunning blue carpet of flowers in the spring when the bluebells are in bloom.
Before you set out: This is a walk on a digital hiking network; the junctions are not signposted on the ground. Follow the wooden posts with blue markings. This walk is offered by the Agency for Nature and Forests and Tourism Flemish Brabant.
