This accessible bike route through the Gete Valley shows you all the different facets of the region: the historic city center of Tienen, the tranquility of open fields and wet valleys, the industrial complex of the Tienen Sugar Refinery, and historic sites such as the three burial mounds. For a while, you’ll follow the IJzerenweg, a car-free bike path on the former railroad right-of-way between Tienen and Diest. In Wommersom, you’ll pass the Helixagon.

Tip: On Sundays, cycle about 1.2 km from junction 71 toward junction 54 to enjoy a cozy terrace at ‘s Hertogenhof in Melkwezer.
