I depart from the water, the Ghent-Bruges canal, and ride along a traffic-calmed street full of bunnies and greenery.

I leave the canal behind and arrive in Oedelem. In Oedelem, there is also a lot of greenery, pedestrian streets, and even a 'hill'. Biking through the fields, I see a lot of woods everywhere.

On the way to Sijsele, I encounter a pop-up bar: Quboo Bar. A bit further lies the Ryckevelde forest. I cycle through the forest and turn off towards Sint-Kruis Bruges.

Once out of Bruges Sint-Kruis, I get more into the polders. On my way to Damme, I ride through Oostkerke, a very pretty village. I will definitely return here. The next stop worth spending an afternoon: Damme!

On the way to Bruges, you still come across an ice cream farm. In Bruges, you can cycle beautifully, car-free, along the windmills, and the city center is close by. Then I veer off to Assebroek, very varied, regularly car-free and through the Assebroekse Meersen, and from Oostkamp along the canal back to Beernem.
