Icon description route Description

We departed from the Belgium-France border, near camping Perroquet.

We first crossed the dunes and then arrived in Ghyvelde. We passed through Uxem, crossed the Moerenvaart canal, and rode alongside it. We paused for a while in Parc du Canal des Moëres in Téteghem.

After Téteghem, we quickly entered Bois des Forts, a very beautiful forest. Upon leaving the forest, we found ourselves at Canal de Bergues, which took us to the medieval fortifications of Sint-Winoksbergen.

From Sint-Winoksbergen, we rode approximately nine kilometers along Canal de la Haute Colme. A little further, we passed through Bourbourg, another town with a rich history.

A bit further on, we arrived at PAARC des Rives de l'Aa, which has an Olympic stadium for kayakers, triathletes, etc. From here, we followed the coast along the route marked by La Vélomaritime bike route.

This route is largely car-free, passing through many parks and nature reserves. Even in Dunkirk, there were segregated bike paths. Very diverse and beautiful.
